Entry #001: Hello!

Hello reader!
Welcome to my first entry. ☺ I have wanted to have some outlet to share what I’m up to in my studio for some time now, and I prefer to keep my IG feed “aestheticized”… IYKYK. My goal is to keep this as minimal as possible, but my ambitious nature already has a trillion ideas about what I can do here. Without further ado, let’s get into it:

Left to Right: 1. Second floor bedroom, 2. Hall of Mirrors + Unicorn Bile, 3. 1:12 scale Grease LP (front cover), 4. 1:12 scale Grease LP (inside).

First, I want to acknowledge the insanity that is having a studio practice… especially as a quote-on-quote “post-studio” artist. I have heard so many stories about artists in other disciplines questioning what it is that photographer’s and other lens-based artists do in a studio. To that, I say that the rooms which hold my creative energy, inspiration, and tools have been remarkably valuable for my development. I invite you to enter my studio:

The Horsehouse is under renovation! As I continue to work on Episodes, I have been accumulating, making, and changing aspects about the Horsehouse.

  • The first bedroom on the second floor got new wallpaper + coat(s) of paint on the ceiling and floor.

  • The bathroom on the third floor became a hall of mirrors, inspired by a bathroom from my late great Uncle’s home. One of the Unicorn’s did not quite make it to the bowl, if you know what I mean.

  • I utilized the 3-D printers to create 1:12 scale LP’s as props for the second episode. The sleeve still needs some work, but not a bad render of my imagination!

The production of said episode is presumably postponed as I continue sorting out the ins and outs through Stills of Play. Yesterday, after I finished painting the ceiling and floor, I worked out a few thoughts:
